The Hypotheses team is looking for its new members!

The Hypotheses team, a bilingual lecture series by and for graduate students in art history, is looking for its new team for the 2026/2027 academic year!

Collective Responsibilities

As a team, each member participates in the reading and selection of proposals, attends conferences and podcast recording sessions, and is present at occasional team meetings.

In this role, the position contributes to the development of the brand identity of Hypothèses and Annexe, as well as the implementation and tracking of the communications calendar.

The core of the position covers the creation of visuals for each communication produced by the team, intended for the web, Instagram and Facebook platforms, as well as content capture to fuel social media.

Hypothèses is looking for two people to fill this position.

In this role, the selected candidates develop preliminary budgets required for funding applications and write the accompanying project descriptions. They prepare and submit grant applications to various organizations, then follow up until a response is received.

On the administrative side, they process reimbursement requests submitted by team members, ensure compliance with financial procedures, and contribute to the writing of year-end reports.

In this role, the position encompasses the development and maintenance of collaborations, acting as a point of contact and resource within the team. It also includes coordination with partner institutions for conference logistics (technical equipment, seating, contracts, etc.).

This role also includes managing liquor permit applications as well as overseeing beverage and food inventory.
In this role, the position coordinates Annexe’s programming, including the selection of participants and ongoing communication with them. It also covers correspondence with Centre Phi and the management of the partnership.

This role includes planning preparatory meetings and recording sessions at Centre Phi, as well as coordinating with the editor throughout editing periods. It also encompasses the distribution of episodes across listening platforms.
In this role, the position hosts Annexe episodes and coordinates co-hosting, including the recruitment and selection of co-hosts from within or outside the organization. It also involves holding preparatory meetings before recordings and managing recording equipment. Collaboration with audio editing is ensured for the setup of recording equipment and sound capture.

About Hypotheses

Hypothèses is an interuniversity association run by a volunteer team, composed of students enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program in art history at Concordia, McGill, UdeM, and UQÀM. Students from all four universities are therefore invited to apply in order to build a team that is as diverse as possible.

Members will be responsible for organizing six annual conferences and collectively coordinating a variety of tasks, including: the selection and programming of conferences and the podcast [Annexes], funding applications and follow-up, email communications, social media management, logistics during conferences, and the renewal of the partnership with the host venue (La Guilde). A commitment over two consecutive years is desirable, though not required.
